"How little do I need in order to have everything..." -- Alix Kates Shulman, from 'Drinking the Rain'
This is gorgeous. I love the colours (especially the purple tones of the water in the foreground) and the converging lines formed by the clouds and their beautiful reflections. It almost looks like a figure seated on that rock in the centre, but I don’t think it is. Or a ghost, maybe? Does anyone else see it? Definitely no ordinary sunset, Elizabeth.

I see it now that you point it out, but I think it’s a heron on a small sand bar and a rock a bit below it.

The soft palate and dreamy quality of this photo makes this look just like a painting, Elizabeth. It looks as though a purple mist is rising from the lake to meet the purple sky.

What wonderful Turneresque textures and colour — almost like a watercolour. So beautiful and somehow both joyous and sad — like nature itself perhaps — the dichotomy of shadow and light, joy and sorrow. Thank you.

Gorgeous capture, Elizabeth. Sunrise or sunset it must have been ‘chilly’ to make the shot.
