Yes layers, colour, action poised: and my question: is this a lock? A very cool pic in any case, but perhaps that explains that ship hovering in the air … or is this a NL mirage fooling me?

No locks here that I know of. The ship is in drydock but that is one of the reasons I took the photo, as you say, it looks as though it’s hovering in the air.

The ship actually looks like it’s suspended from wires, some kind of strange, giant ‘ride’, ski gondola style… (but the water is the best, its tranquility against all the hubbub of the shipyard). What a lovely view. One missed by many I’m guessing…
